Getting Frizell engaged begs the question...are her inputs and reponses accurate and truthful?

Her demeanor mirrors the low respect held for the public by the BoCC.

That said, The Lantern is establishing an importanty position.

Could someone with a legal background explain in layman's terms what these responses actually mean? 🤷‍♀️

Did I detect a note of intimidation? It would be interesting see a independent party's view of the accusation

She showed up at a meeting I had scheduled for the community and she invited herself . Im sure the commissioners sent her. . .she does what they tell her as she answers to them . My questions is who in Douglas County has a responsibility to the people of douglas county as well. If they know it's wrong and they defend them ..... their job or not and they are just as guilty . This is detrimental to the people of Douglas County

The tone and tenor of the responses keep with the experiences many of us have had over the past few decades.

For me the elephant in the room is the use of COPs in such a significant amount. These are "off the books" debt instruments that circumvent the requirements of TABOR. Yes, they are legally allowed, but we must question the use in such a large amount for what is essentially a real estate development by a county. In contrast, the county has historically gone to the voters for permission under TABOR for a variety of taxes, including that for parks and open space.

You have a really complicated response mechanism. Because of it, I was thinking of unsubscribing.

You've reached the big time. I suggest you schedule interviews with various candidates for public office, both Rebublican and Democrat.

Sorry to hear that! We don’t want to cover partisan politics quite like that, many outlets are already doing that. Generally I agree that copy/pasting tomes of responses isn’t the best content but if the County thinks we’re not being forthright I think we should do so here and there.
